Gulf Air Group Holding (GFG) has appointed former UK airport senior executive Paul Kehoe CBE as its first CEO, charged with implementing ambitious expansion plans and a unified strategy for the Bahrain government’s aviation assets.

He will work alongside GFG’s board of directors, chaired by Bahrain minister of transportation and telecommunications Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, to help the group to achieve its strategic objectives.

Kehoe previously served as CEO for leading UK airports including Birmingham, Bristol and Luton, as well as non-executive director for many others worldwide.

His extensive background in the industry also includes air navigation services, aircraft manufacturing, aviation services, and airline operations and he has provided consulting and airport management services for leading international companies.

The minister said: “We are thrilled to welcome Mr Kehoe and look forward to working with him as the company embarks on this exciting new chapter in its history. His extensive experience and working in a range of public private partnerships will make him a valuable asset to all the group’s subsidiaries and associates.”

GFG holdings include Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), Gulf Air, Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA), Gulf Handling Company, Hala Bahrain, BAC Jet Fuel, Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) and Bahrain Duty Free Company.
